We’re had all different types of coolers over the years. All our friends have switched to AO coolers. Our recent purchase of a 48 pack cooler gives us extra space for packing lunches as well as drinks. It fits nicely behind the drivers seat in our boat!

the soft side cooler is absolutely amazing - keeps as cold as my hard side coolers, keeping cold for 72 hours easily. Very happy with quality and functionality.

Just what I need for groceries to stay cool. It beats a hard cooler for space when empty.

These are perfect for keeping my baked goods cold or frozen with gel packs while selling at my farmers market. Have had AO coolers for 8 years!

I have owned various sizes of this identical cooler since I saw it at a Sportsman’s Show 26 years ago! I now own 5, They are comparatively light, durable, and, as others said, keep stuff cold a lot longer than many hard sided coolers. We keep one in each vehicle so even when we make an unexpected stop to Costco, the stuff is still frozen after all our other errands, dinner, etc, EVEN WITHOUT ADDED ICE! CAVEATS: One review said the big one (48 cans) is too big. When you wonder about bigger/smaller, I go bigger because these have beefy plastic clips on both corners when open that easily snap down after zippered , making it more compact and more effective. I do not own a ballistic material one, I have NEVER had a standard canvas one rip or tear! Even though A/O is much bigger now, their after the sale customer service is GREAT! Once I must’ve had had a knife inside with my lunch because the liner tore. Their replacement policy was more than fair. Indeed, in all these years, I lost one of the clips on my daily lunch bag one and they mailed me a new one! Tom H.

I highly recommend this cooler to any parents looking to travel with frozen breastmilk. Using the 48 pack size I was able to travel internationally with just over 700 ounces and everything remained frozen solid for almost 30 hours. I’m confident it would’ve stayed frozen even longer but we’d reached our destination. Some additional details that may help:The instructions tell you to put something inside the cooler to chill it first, I just stuffed the entire cooler into a deep freezer overnight to ensure it was chilled as possible.I was able to fit nine “bricks” (using gallon sized zip-loc bags) of frozen milk. Six were standing upright and side by side at the bottom. The second layer was three bricks laying on their side on top of those (it would not zip if the second tier was standing upright). There wasn’t enough room to lay another three on their side so I filled that space with loose milk bags. I made sure all the bricks were unzipped and compressed to reduce trapping any warm or room temp air inside.I placed two of the large blue ice packs visible in the pictures on the short sides of the cooler and also laid two on top. I finished it out with the silver ice pack sheet laid across everything.Once zipped and sealed I did not open the bag again until reaching our home and opening to put everything in the freezer. Resist the urge to open at the airport at baggage claim to check— unless you’ve got a short ride home, we didn’t!The pictures may look like I had lots of room left but that because the sides fold over once zipped. I left no space because I didn’t want to leave room for any excess air.Once zipped up I taped over all the zippers to reduce the chances of any warm air seeping in or cold air getting out. I also printed signs for each side stating what was inside and asking for the bag not to be opened (I was hoping TSA would only X-ray the bag if concerned). We didn’t have any issues.I checked this bag (it was about 48 pounds and also way too large in dimensions to be carried on) and had no issues at all. It was still fully sealed upon arrival. I do think it’s important to note that I flew in December and my departure and arrival destinations had temperatures in the 40 and 30 degree (Fahrenheit) ranges. Although, I will say that this was a good enough experience that I will be trying this again this summer during peak heat times.I had a really hard time finding recommendations for the best cooler to use to travel with frozen breastmilk. This cooler was amazing and the price point can’t be beat for the size. I hope this helpful to other parents in the same situation. Best of luck!

I took this cooler on a 2 day fishing trip and had some beer and sandwiches in it on the deck with 4 ice packs in it and the beer stayed cold till the last day, even after putting some warm ones in there the night before the last day. After we got off the boat we threw about 100lbs of filleted fish and carried it to my car and it held up great. No tears or anything in the straps. There was a bit of blood on the inside afterwards so I pulled the liner inside out and sprayed it down and let it dry and its good to go again. Only down side I see to this cooler is the strap, its a bit flimsy with a plastic "padding" piece BUT its connected by plastic clips so it can be replaced with something a little stronger. I recommend this to anyone!

I bought this cooler (48-pack, soft side) for a week-long fishing trip in the Sea of Cortez. I used it as my checked-bag on the way down and put all of my clothes, etc inside it. Went through the gauntlet of airport handling just fine and arrived in perfect condition. We had 4 other coolers of the same size in the group, and all were basically used the same way. Each night I'd throw in a bag of ice, a 6-pack of beer and 10 bottles of water. The next day, I'd take it on the boat, where it sat in 95-degree Mexican sun. By the end of the day, the beer was still cold and there was still ice in the cooler. Worked fine like this for 5 straight days.At the end of the trip I put 50 pounds of frozen fish in it (50 pounds of tuna and mahi-mahi fill it roughly 3/4 of the way). I took it to the airport and checked it. Again, no problem. From when the fish went into the cooler to when I took it out at home was roughly 15 hours of driving and flying and the contents were still frozen solid. It definitely did its job, though I will say that it's a bit cumbersome for hauling 50 pounds in, though pretty much anything without wheels would be.

Ok... I didn't look at the measurements... just thought that "48 can cooler" would be about right for road trip. Holy cow. This cooler is HUGE... please review the measurements. If I actually filled this cooler with food, water, etc AND ice or ice packs... I am NOT certain one could lift it. It's REALLY huge. So... I went back for the 24 can... we will keep the HUGE one for our seafood boils or other bbq's at home! It doesn't have rollers or anything.. so if you fill it, you lift it! :) Really super thick sides. I did also purchase the "shock" ice packs for extra long cooling. I have high hopes for this HUGE cooler AND the more reasonable sized 24 can size. :) I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. I hope the info I have provided is helpful to you in some way!

Excellent cooler, keeps things cold over 24 hours if not in direct sun. Con (which is outweighed by the pros) is that there is no way to easily empty out excess water as ice melts. The pro (and I think the reason the design is as it is) is that the bag is leak-proof (at least when right-side up) and the soft material allows for flexibility in transportation (and what seems like less total space). I'd rather its design than any cons that could be introduced by a break in the bag's seal (if there was a water spout for excess water). I've used this for grocery delivery, groceries, and for camping. Easy clean-up. Excellent bag. Worth the price.
